“This industry has taught me to become a disciplined person.”
Hidrir graduated from cohort 15 of the TNTA programme and he is now a deck cadet working with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
Reason for joining the maritime industry:
Hidrir developed an interest in the maritime industry during one of his earlier employment as a boarding officer. He learnt about TNTA through a friend but was however not successful in two previous selections. His passion for the maritime industry and charm finally saw him being accepted and graduated from the Special Limits Programme before moving onto the TNTA programme.
Influence of TNTA on his life:
Since joining the TNTA programme, Hidrir has become more diligent and conscientious in his work. Even his family members have noticed his personal improvement and commended TNTA for the positive transformation in him.
Hidrir aspires to be a Ship Captain one day.
Memorable times on board the ship:
Hidrir enjoyed the bond that was formed with the other cadets during the Basic Operational and Ship Safety Training (BOSST).
Hidrir believes the important lesson is to adapt to any new environment and stay humble when learning from seniors.
